Tips For Success

Today’s Workout
Box Squat 10×2 EMOTM 55-65% 1RM

Then
4 Rounds (Not For Time)
15 GHD Sit-ups
15 Bent Rows
15 Unbroken Wall-Ball Shots

A great read I found recently surveyed a group of Coaches and Trainers to compile a list of tips for success in a training program. I couldn’t agree more with the advice that was shared.

Here is the synopsis:

“Summary of things that jumped out at me reading each:

1. CONSISTENCY

2. GETTING STRONGER

3. EATING ACCORDING TO YOUR NEEDS

4. SURROUND YOURSELF WITH LOVE NOT NEGATIVITY

5. HAVE A GOAL

6. TRAINING IS MORE THAN LIFTING, IT SHOULD BE FUN AND BE PROMOTED TO LAST A LIFETIME.

7. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY, RECOVER.”

Any of this sound familiar?

  1. One I’d add from you is having a ‘healthy fear.’ It has really helped me prepare for WODs.

  3. I would add – push your self hard ( got to love to hurt a little)

  4. One more or two add ons……challenge your self and have a great training partner

  5. #5 is my reminder that many of us (including myself) have yet to put a goal on the board. Don’t think too much. Put something up there you’ve been wanting to do and then go after it.

  7. And Nick you totally missed the one I’ve heard you say a million times:

“Squatting makes you better at life.”

  8. Looking forward to this one. Why do box squats feel so difficult even though the weight is so light?
