As an athlete it can be come easy to over think things. Heavy lifts, big benchmark workouts, and epic gymnastic skills can cause us to go through gymnastics mentally. Many of us have experienced the sting of Fran several times at this point. We have records to break and PRs to earn. This stress can be beneficial when applied effectively, but it can also cause us to break down if we let it. It is important to realize that PR or not we are a community built upon supporting effort over result. As long as you push yourself and complete every rep with as much virtuosity as you can muster when your vision starts to close in and get blurry you have won. Coming away with a PR feels good, but knowing you gave everything you had trying feels even better. Think and plan today as much as you want, but focus on the positive. When it comes time to rage turn your brain off, your body on, and do work.

I wrote it from my own experience. Fran scares me just as much as it scares anyone.
Fran isn’t anything we can’t handle!
