Make Ridiculous Goals

This is the first time I have ever really celebrated a personal PR on our blog, but I want to use it to make a point. I have wanted a triple bodyweight deadlift ever since I pulled my first double bodyweight lift about 4 years ago. At the time it seemed like an impossibility, but little by little over the years I chipped away at it. Yesterday I pulled 600.7lbs at a bodyweight of 198lbs. It is the single greatest lift in my life thus far. There are few greater feelings in this world than achieving a goal you have worked unyieldingly to accomplish. The best athletes in our gym do this on a daily basis. The most recent example of this in my mind is the noon class I coached before I left I got to witness Migs, Laura, Brittnay, and Paulo each push the boundaries of their athletic capabilities with PRs and new gymnastic skills galore. The whole time they were cheering one another on and celebrating each other’s successes. We are a community built upon supporting each other to accomplish any athletic goal we desire, and because of this we are capable of doing pretty much anything into which we put our hearts and minds. Make ridiculous goals and destroy them. If you can do it in the gym, you can apply this skill to any avenue in life and your potential is limitless.

Thanks for sharing the video, you kick ass! Congratulations on crushing your goal and achieving a PR!
