People used to think that running a mile under 4 minutes was impossible. Then a speedy British person by the name of Roger Bannister went sub 4. Since the barrier was broken multiple other athletes have earned a mile time of less than 4 minutes. All it took was one crazy to push through to show others that it was indeed possible.

Every day athletes in our gym do things that were not possible in their lives before. This is what a PR is. Every time you PR you are pushing the envelope of your performance. Another great source of inspiration can be found within our community because of this. When our peers help to show us what is possible through amazing performances they blaze the trail for us to follow. It doesn’t matter if an athlete’s performance results in a sub 2 minute “Fran” or a first pull-up, witnessing others display the heart, focus, and effort to do things that are on the borderline of possible for them is incredibly inspiring. As the weights on our boards go up and the benchmark times go down we grow stronger and faster as a team fostering each other’s athletic development.

  1. Reminds me of one of my favorite quotes from Bruce Lee: “Because you might as well be dead. Seriously, if you always put limits on what you can do, physical or anything else, it’ll spread over into the rest of your life. It’ll spread into your work, into your morality, into your entire being. There are no limits. There are plateaus, but you must not stay there, you must go beyond them. If it kills you, it kills you. A man must constantly exceed his level.”
