Starting August 1st we will be doing another Paleo Challenge. Over the next week I will be laying out the rules and suggestions for our challenge, but the first step is to start consciously thinking about what you are eating. Are you Paleo, Zone, or do you follow any other diet? Do you just eat whatever you want? Feel free to discuss in comments.

Not following any diet currently. I just don’t eat meat. I think it would be a good idea to get something going. More veggies. Definitely not eating very healthy while on vacation: crepes, soda, beer, wine, etc. Pretty good, though.
I’m a vegetarian. So any tips on how to continue and keep a Paleo diet would be appreciate it.
I try to follow a modified paleo. This includes paleo foods + some dairy (whole milk and greek yogurt) + seldom ezeikiel bread + steel cut oatmeal in the mornings. I have only in the last few weeks started to get pretty strict and I do allow myself a little leeway when craving cheeseburgers, but it seems to be producing decent results, I have lost 7 lbs in the last 3 wks and my performance hasn’t decreased appreciably. I just need to get my sleep dialed in, that’s killing me.
Also this WOD looks like it may require the use of pukie the bucket.
Roger, being a vegetarian and eating paleo don’t really work together because most of the protein sources in a vegetarian diet are not allowed on a paleo diet. I might suggest something modified, such as allowing soy so that you can still have beans, tofu, etc, and stocking up on the eggs…
I don’t eat red meat, enjoy yams/brown rice 3x/week, and drink red wine every night so Paleo doesn’t really work for me. I do have a pretty simple & healthy meal plan that I follow during the week with protein/veggies/some complex carbs at every meal that I would be willing to share with my fellow female CrossFitters! PS, this WOD looks horrible.
Paleo plus dairy! (And, uh, dark chocolate and wine on occasion.) It’s the only thing that calms down my overactive immune system.
I drink the tears of the weak, and feed from the slothness of the physically apathetic.
.. and sometimes mix in a nonfat cafe latte, hold the foam.
unfortunately vegetarians cant really do paleo cause they wouldn’t get any protein. you can try a modified paleo diet though. also, will your answer wins the unofficial answer contest today. see me later this week for a gold star sticker.
Ryan, thanks. that’s mostly what I’ve been doing – getting protein from eggs, Tofu, etc. Nick suggested Almond butter a few months ago, and now I’m addicted. I eat a banana about three times a day with a tablespoon of raw almond butter.
And Elizabeth ditto on the red wine every night!
Didn’t eat paleo the entire time i was at the goodland. Went home and had a great support program with my family eating paleo with me. I only went completely strict for about 10 days before regionals, but what came from it was the best fitness of my life. Moral of the story: If your going to do the challenge i recommend having someone else to do it with because its like rehab and you need support, and paleo will help make you the best athlete you’ve been so far in your crossfit experience!
P.S. i miss you guys
