Brendan’s Story

Today’s Workout:

Power Clean
3-3-3

Then:
CrossFit Games Regional WOD 2:

The Thruster Ladder

Starting at 155/105 do one thruster every 30 Seconds adding 10lb to the bar each time. Continue until you can’t lock it out.

A while back Brendan came in and was having some serious issued with tightness and back pain. With a little hard work and consistency his pain is a thing of the past (unless it’s 2 days after a workout like the one we did yesterday). If you have pain you have no one to blame but yourself for not working to alleviate it. Here is Brendan’s story in his own words:

While most college freshmen are worrying about getting good grades and not contracting an STD, I was dealing with the same problems my 80 year old grandfather has. I couldn’t sit down in a seat for more than half an hour without feeling like my spine was being gnawed on by relentless and vicious rodents, making going to class an exercise in finding the best time to get up and walk around. I have to admit I was in denial. No way could a healthy, fitness-minded young man like myself be having back pain; that was something old people worried about…or so I thought. After being introduced to Crossfit and Mobility WOD I learned that the active lifestyle I thought I was living was not enough to battle my countless hours of dormancy and general laziness. Finally admitting defeat, I decided to make a change.. With the help of physical therapy, Crossfit, and watching Mobility WOD, I was able to completely erase my back pain in a matter of weeks. Moral of the story? If some part of your body is bothering you, use the tools at your disposal to fix it. All it took was about 20 minutes a day to transform myself from a geriatric teenager to the fit and healthy person I knew I could be. So stop half-assing your mobility work. No matter how ridiculous it might seem, this stuff works, and I’m living proof.

REMINDER: Tonight there is no regular 6:30PM class as our OLY 1 Course with Major starts.
