The time to RAGE is drawing near…

This year the initial pool of athletes interested in competing for the title of "Fittest Man and Woman on the Planet" will be narrowed to 60 athletes per region via an Open Sectional. Workouts will be posted Tuesdays and we will crush them here at CFG on Saturdays. Starting March 19th (and for the next 6 weeks) our Saturday workouts will be the prescribed Open WOD from www.crossfit.com. Don't be intimidated! These workouts will be like any other we have ever done. We will run scaled heats starting at 9:30AM and RX heats at 10:30AM each Saturday. On the 19th after the 10:30AM heats we will be having a little informal Opening Ceremony/potluck BBQ for anyone interested in coming to hang out and support the crazies who are going to make a go at Regionals. We have a few athletes who have a realistic shot at making it to the next level, and it will be exciting to see what the workouts are and how they perform.

  1. Wow…I’m practically looking at the ceiling when I do my cleans.
    125-135-155-175-180 (or something like this)
Then: 10:12 (2 rounds of 1.5 pood, 3 rounds of 1 pood and knees to somewhere below my elbows)
Not a stellar WOD day. I started out using the 1.5 pood kettlebell and I felt pretty confident that I could do this because I’ve done 1.5 pood KBS in a WOD before. However, that WOD was alternating KBS and running so today I underestimated what the combination of knees to elbows and KBS would do to my forearms. Needless to say, I got a little out of control in the second round with the 1.5 kettlebell so I finished the last three rounds with 1 pood. I also tore my hands and that made knees to elbows even harder than they already are. I’ll get after it in my last two classes this week to make up for this poor performance.

  3. Angel, you forgot to write rx. i will change it. sorry bud, i just go off whats written…
Hang Power Clean up to 3×245
then power clean at 275 and 3 attempts at 295 but couldnt quite get it, i was either slow under the bar or not finishing with my hips…
    then 13-1 Box Jumps/1-13 Competition Push-ups 7:55

  4. Also, Katie you crushed it, sometimes times will suffer a bit when trying a new KB, especially when the entire workout is a grip killer.

  5. No worries, I don’t think my forearms could’ve afforded writing the two extra letters today
