LSD (Long slow distance) training is an old school approach to building cardiorespiratory endurance through sub maximal sustained aerobic training. Aside from being incredibly boring and time consuming, LSD is ineffective and may even be harmful to your health. LSD increases your cortisol and insulin levels triggering your body to store fat, use its own lean muscle for energy, and make you more susceptible to injury and infection. Some studies even indicate that LSD promotes aging and breaks down your body in the fiery process of oxidation. Look at the top marathon runners, do they look healthy or sickly and thin? LSD emphasizes quantity above all else: distance, repetitions, etc, as opposed to focusing on heavier weights, proper mechanics, and technique. Short intense workouts, like the ones we do here at CrossFit Goodland not only are more effective at building strength and power, but they also train the aerobic capacity more effectively. Get the most out of your time investment in fitness, save your body, and get more results. Stay away from LSD.

The effects of LSD are unpredictable. They depend on the amount taken, the user’s personality, mood, and expectations, and the surroundings in which the drug is used. The physical effects include dilated pupils, higher body temperature, increased heart rate and blood pressure, sweating, loss of appetite, sleeplessness, dry mouth, and tremors.
