No one puts 89 octane in a V12 Ferrari. Even though the Paleo Challenge is over it is very important to continue to pay attention to your diet. What you eat gives you the fuel to drive your activity and recovery from it. Try to continue to eat lots of meat, fruits, veggies, nuts, and seeds. If you do eat bread or processed carbohydrate try to balance it out with some protein and fat near a Zone ratio (40-30-30). The simplest advice for shopping at the store is to shop around the outsides, not the through the aisles, and try to buy local organic produce as much as possible. There are many great farmers markets and places to buy organic foods in Goleta and Santa Barbara so take full advantage of them. The more you can stick to a healthy diet the less time it will take you to do "Fran." You don't have to drive a Ferrari when you are a Ferrari.

Some places to get delicious local produce and grass-fed beef

IV Food Coop

Country Meat Market

  2. Grass Fed beef is amazing. I haven’t had the stuff from Country Meat Market yet but the sausage and ground beef they sell at the Sunday Farmers Market in Goleta is great. Both the munich and swiss style sausages are good. Spendy though.
