So heres the challenge: Adopt the Paleo Diet and keep it up for a month starting this Monday, April 12. This challenge is informal, and not required, but it is highly recommended that you at least try. There are varying degrees of what is considered to be actually Paleo, but for the most part eat things that grew out of the ground or used to be an animal and avoiding processed foods. Check the nutrition page for more details. The hardest part about this diet is the first week, but if you can make it through that it becomes much easier and you will begin to see a lot of the benefits of proper nutrition. One common mistake people make when trying a new diet is completely scrapping it if they break from it for a meal. It is incredibly difficult to adhere perfectly to any diet, just brush it off and look to the next meal as an opportunity to get back on track. The more you can stick to the simple recommendation of meat, eggs, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds you the better you will feel about what you are eating and the better you will perform.
Here is an inspiring post by stud athlete Jaala Thibault from CrossFit Ventura on her first experiences with Paleo. This post was actually one of the big motivators for me to start making the effort to eat Paleo.
An excerpt from Jaala's experiences with her first month:
"Now, here I sit today, finished with my Paleo challenge.
Besides my vision improving, here is what else has happened in 30 days:
I have lost 7 pounds (I wasn't big to start with; from 128 to 121).
My body fat percentage has gone down 5% (18 to 13).
My back squat went up 20 pounds (115-135).
I snatched and squatted weight overhead for the first time (53#).
I can discuss the glycemic index of most foods.
My kipping pull-up total went from 13-20.
I dropped 7 seconds on my 800 meter run (2:46-2:39).
I know the difference between the Paleolithic Era and the Neolithic Age.
My body temperature has gone down a degree (97.5 degrees Fahrenheit).
I have fallen in love with raw, unsalted, crunchy almond butter."

I will be back, I just need to get a few things in order and I’ll hopefully be raging in the goodland soon.
I suck at snatches of any form.

ryan, the snatch just takes a lot of practice to develop as it requires a huge amount of coordination of nearly every muscle in your body. good work tho 125 is awesome!
