"CrossFit Total"

3 attempts for a one rep max on each exercise. Score is the combined weight of the three maxes.

Squat
Shoulder Press
Deadlift

The CrossFit Total is a great indicator of total body strength. Strong athletes tend to be able to perform better across a wide range of energy pathways. The three lifts of the total are chosen for their functional nature. Each requires the athlete to move a load in an upright position, which requires a considerable increase in effort and skill over movements such as the bench press, during which the lifter is laying down and supported by the bench itself. One rep maxes require both a large amount of effort and focus and are thus great tools to demonstrate and increase athletic performance.
